I found an article that raises a lot of questions of how factual the Plot of titanic really was. It seems that the 1st Officer Murdoch was not the character that he was shown as, but rather historical evidence points to him being heroic and self sacrificing in the last moments before the ship sank. The site mentions a lot of events and details, it just show how films many time sacrifice being historically correct in an effort to tell a story sometimes the actual events and perspective are less interesting and left out of the film. By showing you the story from their chosen point of view the facts can appear very different. This also holds true a story told in a flash back format. We are invited to believe that the narrator’s vision of the past is the most accurate. I wonder if the antagonist’s character Cal Hockley would have remembered the story the same way that it was told on film. But then again the chances are good that he could have mostly been fictional and a plot acceleration tool.

I too was impressed by the plot of the Titanic. Cameron did a wonderful job researching and taking every opportunity to make the film as realistic as possible.

I really enjoyed the plot of the Titanic. I am sure that some of the actual incidents that occured were changed to keep the viewer interested in the film.
