A particular line in the book about who the author of the film really is caught my attention and I started searching. I had always heard and understood that the director was given the credit for the film. I found a site discussing the differences between the Schreiber, and the Auteur theories about who should receive the credit the story writer or the director. It seems that more emphasis is on the director but it is hard to determine which could really be considered as more critical to the movie.
