I found the different camera positions and methods to be very enlightening. It is often that when watching movies now I look at all of the work that goes into making the different shots look real. It is really obvious all of the advances in technology that help film and TV directors, when watching films and TV shows filmed even just a few years ago.
I also found the reading material to be very interesting, especially the authorship argument, and the hope Hollywood placed in the Auteur film directors. Now it seems normal for directors to be in the creative process but previous readings talked about how movies used to be produced and the amount of control the studios exercised over every aspect. I also enjoyed selecting the Directors and looking for their specific styles in the film rather than just the story elements.
